If you’re a weary traveler whose needs are high on Maslow’s pyramid, you may want to make Seattle a place to lay your head…next to the bosom of a complete stranger.
The long and winding road tends to leave travelers lonely, anxious, and even depressed. Cuddle Club is here to fix that, offering cuddling sessions to anyone who wanders in looking for the encouragement given through human touch. Check your luggage and hand sanitizer at the door folks, because the travel must-have you forgot to pack was a good ol’ fashioned hug.
Rates start at $45 for thirty minutes of cuddling. Not exactly the free hug hippies that linger in public parks.
Founder Leshanna Williams is a “Certified Cuddle Professional” who aims to make a difference in the lives of those around her. She’s not alone. Not only is Williams accepting member applications for the newly launched Cuddle Club, other hire-a-hugger venues have begun to swaddle the country, such as Cuddle Time for You in North Carolina. In additional to luxury cuddle, customers can snuggle two individuals for $120 an hour, and even offer an overnight rate of $500.
In a recent interview with local news, Williams asserted that there is no sexual activity whatsoever. “No touching me where my underclothes are. You have to come clothed. You have to shower. You have to be reasonably clean."
Practitioners swear by its healthful benefits of relieving stress, but make no mention of the added stress that comes with a stranger touching you.
